Welcome to Abundant Life Clinical Psychology

We all know the feeling of just trying to get through another day, or even worse, not wanting to face another day at all. However, at ALCP we believe that there is the possibility for every one of us to live lives full of joy, peace and purpose. Our desire to help every individual we work with to achieve a life that they genuinely want to live, within which there is fullness and passion.

Rachael Ambler is the owner and sole practitioner at ALCP. She has chosen to maintain a small and personal practice, to ensure a warm and compassionate environment is provided to every single person she works with.

As a clinical psychologist, Rachael specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of psychological problems affecting individual adults and adolescents. She has been practising as a psychologist since 1999, and has been working in her own private practice since 2002. Her practice is located in Stones Corner, Brisbane. She has worked in a variety of settings, including schools, medical centres, universities, Lifeline, community clinics, and hospitals.

Rachael has a Master of Clinical Psychology degree; is a member of the Australian Psychological Society's Clinical College of Psychologists; and is an endorsed specialist clinical Medicare provider. She is very experienced in the area of trauma, having been using EMDR since 2011, and is an EMDR accredited consultant. Rachael is currently secretary of the APS EMDR Special Interest Group. Rachael is also an accredited (STAP) supervisor and finds great satisfaction in supporting university students, clinical registrars, and fellow psychologists. Rachael is committed to lifelong professional development and regularly engages in her own supervision.

Rachael strives to provide her clients and supervisees with a supportive and empathic therapeutic environment and is very passionate about her clinical work.

She is married with two teenage daughters and two very indulged dogs. She enjoys dancing, singing, reading, going to the beach, and being involved in church and her children's activities.
